Ahh… summer. Are you here yet? Though technically it isn’t until June 21, my oldest is out of kindergarten already so we’re ready for all the summer here! Mr. R celebrated his last day of school wearing his newest shirt, sewn for the Get Ready for Summer Blog Tour hosted by Seams Sew Lo. I bring you… the popsicle summer tee!

It’s funny how things you create don’t always turn out how you envision, but they end up being great anyway! Such was the case for these tees. They are made using the Ellie and Mac half pipe pattern (which, by the way, is on sale right now, in addition to all patterns this whole month!). This pattern offers so much creativity with two different blocked pieces on the front. I went through several iterations before I settled on the popsicle. Lighting McQueen, sunglasses, anchors… but popsicles has an all-summer, casual, happy boy vibe to it, so it won!

Organized Play Room Reveal with Wall Quote and Toy Storage Labels

Organized Play Room Reveal with Wall Quote and Toy Storage Labels by Made for Little Gents

We’ve been living in our home for four months now, and I must say the organization and decorating process is slow going! We have a partially finished basement that we use for the kids’ playroom and our entertainment center. I am so glad we paid the extra money to finish this part of the basement, as it’s where the boys hang out most of the time, and it keeps the toys out of the main living area. Messes stress my husband and I out like crazy. With the toy room in the basement, the main living area can stay clean longer. There can be a toy disaster in the basement and it won’t bother me (not as much anyway)!

The play room is finally looking nice and organized, and I thought you might want a peek at it. The wall quote and toy storage labels I made are also available for your personal use. Go ahead and read on!

Baby One Piece Rash Guard + FREE Crab Cut File

Baby One Piece Rash Guard + FREE Crab Cut File by Made for Little Gents

Welcome to my stop on the Boys in Summer Blog Tour! For this tour, I’ve got a swim outfit for my six-month-old son, Mr. L. This little guy gets left out of my sewing creations a lot. Let’s face it, when you have three children the same gender, all the clothes get passed down through each child. Plus, when you have a baby, the baby get lots of clothes as gifts (in addition to the cute things you find and make for him). So let’s see… 3 babies x lots of new clothes for each one = LOTS OF CLOTHES. Not much need to sew for this little guy. But, despite it all, he somehow doesn’t have a swim outfit that fits him! So that brings us to this latest creation: Mr. L’s baby one-piece rash guard!

St Patrick’s Day Animal Shirts + FREE Cut Files

I am lucky.

A more accurate term would be “blessed”, but with St. Patrick’s Day coming up this weekend, we’re going with “lucky” today. I am lucky to be married to my best friend, to have three healthy, beautiful boys, to live next to the mountains, to own a beautiful home of our own, and to blog about my creations to you. You see, St. Patrick’s Day is one of those holidays that I wonder why we celebrate. I don’t drink, so that part of it doesn’t appeal to me. Green holds a rare occurrence in my closet. And I’m left wondering why leprechauns, pots of gold, and getting pinched for not wearing green get to come on the same day every year. In an effort to enjoy this holiday more, I’m turning this around and turning it into a celebration of “lucks”!

Right now, I am lucky to share these St. Patrick’s Day shirts with you as part of the Sewing by Ti Spring Into Color Blog Tour. And you are lucky as well, because the cut files for these cute St. Paddy’s day animals are available to you for free at the end of this post!
